The International Baccalaureate (IB) At A Glance

  • Offers 4 educational programmes to students aged 3 to 19 (the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), and the Career-related programme (CP)). 
  • In the MYP (11-16 years) students study language acquisition, language and literature, individuals and societies, science, mathematics, arts, physical and health education, and design. It is assessed through onscreen examinations, coursework (ePortfolio), and a personal project.
  • The DP (16-19 years) curriculum is a combination of 3 core areas: theory of knowledge (TOK), the extended essay (self-directed research), and a project related to creativity, activity & service (CAS). Students also study 6 subject groups (studies in language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts). Some subjects can be taken at a higher level (HL) and some at the standard level (SL).
